How to prepare for the appointment

For allergy requiring skin prick testing:

  • No antihistamines for 3-4 days
  • You may be asked to bring in unusual foods to be tested, if appropriate
  • Bring previous test results

How long is the appointment?

The initial appointment is around an hour, depending on the case. Follow ups are 30 minutes.

How do you diagnose food allergy?

It depends on the food allergy. Diagnostic methods vary on the type of symptoms of the allergic reaction. History is the main component of the diagnosis. Food challenge is the gold standard of diagnosis.

What if my child is unwell?

Let us know as we might need to reschedule. It depends how unwell they are.

What if I can’t make my appointment?

You may be charged a cancellation fee if cancelled within 24 hours or if you fail to show up without notice.

How do we claim medicare rebate?

We provide online medicare rebate service.
